Control your document management processes with OpenText Exstream and DSI

Communication is an essential part of your relationship with your customers, whether it’s by email, text message, paper mail or other means. Depending on your volume of transactions, setting up and monitoring your production chain can be quite a burden for your company.

Our goal is to help you optimize this burden by supporting you in the design, automation and monitoring of your document production. At Document Solution Internationale Inc. we have in-depth expertise in OpenText Exstream, a Customer Communication Management (CCM) product.

What is OpenText Exstream?

It’s the name given to documentary generation products, and includes several solutions. Our in-depth knowledge of these products allows our professional consultants to help you with the following solutions:

StreamServe : Communication Server, Document presentment (Live) for SAP

This tool was founded in Sweden in 1997. Five versions were developed over the years, before it was acquired by OpenText in October 2010. The solution was renamed Customer Communications Enterprise (or “CCE”) in 2015, following the acquisition of PowerDocs. It is also known under other names, including Document Presentment for SAP and Document Presentment Live for SAP.

Exstream

In 2017, StreamServe became Exstream 16, following OpenText's acquisition of HP Exstream in 2016. This tool represents the combination of the 3 CCMs (StreamServe, PowerDocs and HP Exstream) and offers the possibility of using these 3 components in document creation. In 2020, Exstream 16 became Exstream 20 and Exstream 20 (CE), and offered two types of use: on premise or on cloud (CE).

What does OpenText Exstream do and what are its features?

Offering a wide range of functions, this document production tool builds on the reception of your business data to create and massify documents.

Its aim is to facilitate communication between you and your customers via the most standard output channels on the market.

Sequencing

Exstream uses industry-standard input channels to receive data from your business applications and ensure document composition.

Conversion

Exstream is capable of transforming and handling :
- A document in its non-text format (e.g., a PDF file) to any other native format, in line with the desired output channel;
- Structured incoming data (XML, CSV, etc.) for use in generating output documents.

Composition

Exstream supports both heavy client editors (for complex documents such as invoice forms) and web editors (for simpler documents such as letters) for document design.

Re-engineering

Exstream offers the possibility of rethinking the document creation and management process according to the latest standards, which are more appropriate than older production tools (e.g. those based on Microsoft products).

Mass production

Exstream's main role is to produce documents in large quantities. It features a retention module that allows document storage during the day and mass production at night, so you can manage the grouping, sorting and subdivision of your documents.

Multichannel distribution

Exstream natively features some of the most standard output channels (email, physical printouts, SMS, Fax, etc.), but also offers the possibility of using customized output channels.

Archiving

Exstream can be connected to archiving softwares from the same provider, but can also be integrated with other external tools.
